Image File Specifications
What File FORMATS AND IMAGE SIZES CAN I USE?
FILE SIZE:
The maximum file size of an uploaded image depends on where you will be using it. If your image file is larger that the limit where you plan on uploading it, you might need to try saving it in a different format, or reducing its resolution.
File Use | Maximum Size |
Art Print Store | 100MB |
Photo Gallery | 50MB |
Standard Store | 20MB |
Standard Page | 5MB |
Preparing your files:
- We support JPG and TIFF, but recommend using JPG where possible.
- 8-bit RGB files only.
To make sure your image file is in RGB, check the file info or image settings in your image editing program. Additionally, for optimum expected results make sure that your image file has an embedded Adobe RGB or sRGB color space profile. Please note, Graphik will honor the profile that is present in the image records and does not alter the coloration or auto-color-correct. If an uploaded image doesn't have an embedded profile, a standard sRGB profile will be added to the image in order to normalize it.Recommended Settings for each Image Format:
JPG images:
- 8 bits per channel
- Baseline Standard Encoding
PNG images:
- 8 bits per channel
- Avoid alpha channels if possible.
TIFF images:
- 8 bits per channel
- No alpha channels
- No layers
- Pixel Order: Interleaved
- Image Compression: LZW
- Saved as sRGB or Adobe RGB 1998
Recommended Image Resolution:
For best print quality, please upload high-resolution images. Your image should be saved at a minimum of 200 PPI (pixels per inch) for your target print size. For larger print sizes, a higher image resolution is suggested.
Your images will be printed at between 72PPI and 300PPI, depending on the resolution of your image and the target size of your print. This is regardless of the PPI value of your image as uploaded. Images which would be printed at more than 300PPI will be scaled down to 300PPI, as this is the maximum level of detail at which it is possible to print your images.

Naming your images:
You should only use normal characters (letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, underscore, and dash) when naming your images. Any special characters in your image names will require your files to be renamed before they enter production, which can increase production time of your order.
